Over Christmas break I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to get away from the city and go hide out in the mountains. My boyfriend, my best friend and I rented out a cozy little villa in Fairmont Hot Springs in the beautiful province of British Columbia. The views we had from our living space were incredible with a little pond on one side and the mountains on the other. The snow covered the ground like a fluffy white blanket and weighed down the trees like you see in the movies.

I found it very relaxing to just cozy up next to my favourite people and play games and watch the food network, while having the most beautiful setting. The quietness of the mountains gave me the chance to start blogging after months of wanting to get going so I’m very thankful for that. My mountain getaway wasn’t only consumed with relaxing in the cabin though, because when in the mountains I must ski! We hit the hill twice this week and had some horrid falls but how will I get better if I don’t push my limits right?

One of my favourite views was from the top of the chair lift where you can see the entire valley below. Unfortunately it was a bit foggy so photos couldn’t capture the views very accurately so you’ll just have to take my word for it! After a full day of skiing we hit up the hot springs for a nice relaxing soak in the minerals. Fairmont is a really neat ski hill because entrance to the hot pools is included in the lift ticket price!

The hill also has a little tube park (which I though was for children but was very wrong). The worst part about tubing or tobogganing is trudging back up the hill afterward BUT at the hill they had a conveyor belt type ramp that brings you back up to the tubing slide so you can get more riding in. Long story short, if you ever have a chance to go to Fairmont, BC don’t pass it up!
